Ballroom
We are almost certain we are the only childcare service on the Sunshine Coast to offer a majestic ballroom for children to experience a love of music and dance in. It is a room like no other and one in which you can sense the history and enjoyment this beautiful high ceilinged room brought to people a generation ago. There are old music sheets and beautiful ball gowns on display along with beautifully framed paintings. We encourage all educators to use this beautiful space with children on a daily basis. We believe in offering children the opportunity to play authentic musical instruments as opposed to cheap plastic 'replicas '. Our latest additions to our collection have included beautiful African drums handmade on the Sunshine Coast by a local family business Rhythm Culture as well as a stunning handcrafted Marimba, also locally made by Sunkiss Marimbas. We regularly host musicians who wish to share their passion with young children encouraging them to develop an early appreciation of music. Many musicians have commented that the acoustics in this room are the best they have played in and we have also had songs recorded here too. We are very fortunate that a number of our educators play a musical instrument as well as one who is a dance teacher so they incorporate these experiences into the daily programs that all children get to enjoy and benefit from.
